KC1301 Drill Key Chuck 1.5-13mm are designed to use a key to loosen or tighten the grip on a tool. When slippage is an issue during heavy-duty operations, keyed chucks have the benefit of delivering additional torque to the bit. They can rotate in either a clockwise or a counterclockwise direction.

Keyed chucks offer the advantage of applying additional torque on the bit when slippage is a concern during heavy-duty applications. Keyless chucks are engineered to quickly loosen and tighten a tool on the chuck collar of the drill, either by manual operation or when torque is applied.
The chuck key is used to tighten and loosen the chuck. To use this style drill chuck a drill bit or driver is chucked into the drill. It’s important to be sure that the bit is centered in the jaws of the chuck. Then the key is turned clockwise to tighten the chuck and hold the bit or driver in place.
