Why use OS&Y GATE VALVE?
OS&Y gate valve is generally used to completely shut off fluid flow or, in the fully open position, provide full flow in a pipeline. Thus it is used either in the fully closed or fully open positions. A gate valve consists of a valve body, seat and disc, a spindle, gland, and a wheel for operating the valve.

OS & Y gate valve commonly used to control water flow to fire sprinkler systems
OS&Y means “outside stem and yoke” or “outside screw and yoke”.
OS&Y gate valves operate by opening and closing via a gate, which lowers into or rises out of the valve. Raising the gate allows water to flow through the valve while lowering the gate cuts off the water flowing through the valve. When fully open, the typical gate valve has no obstruction in the flow path, resulting in very low friction loss. UL & FM certified.
What is a gate valve best suited for?
Gate valves are ideal for any application that involves slurries as the gate can cut right through. Gate valves are also common in applications using liquids like heavy oils, light grease, varnish and other non-flammable liquids.
