Heat guns are effective on almost any substrate like wood, metal, masonry, and plaster. Don’t try using a heat gun directly on glass or plastic as you’ll likely end up with broken glass or melted plastic.
As heat guns can reach up to 1200 degrees Fahrenheit, they could cause serious burns if you try and use them without putting the proper precautionary measures in place first.
Heat from the gun will melt or scorch within seconds, so use a shield and point away from the carpet as much as possible – but also keep clear of the wallpaper! Far better to remove carpet from harms way of both the heat from the gun and the melted paint being stripped.
