Breeching inlets are used in buildings for firefighting purposes, fitted with inlet connection at Civil Defence access level and outlet connection at specified points, which is normally dry but capable of being charged with water by pumping from fire service appliances.
Fire service inlet means a connection provided at the base of a building for pumping up water through-in-built fire-fighting arrangements by fire service pumps in accordance with the recommendations of the Chief Fire Officer.
An inlet breeching is the point within a dry riser system at which fire and rescue services connect their own water supply.
To activate the water flux of the firefighting system, you simply turn the landing valve handle counterclockwise. Water pressure matters for high buildings.
